I dont have a big budget so is it worth me getting a website now or waiting!
How important is it to have a website?

I would say it is better for you to have a website than no website at all!

Start small and work your way up..... At least it makes you more available!

Hi there.

It's great to have a web site and they can be setup cheaply, but it's about who visits it, making sure you setup google PPC adverts and have proper search engine optimisation setup.

I've already produced a video tutorial on what makes a good personal trainer web site. Plus I will be running specific a seminar on this shortly at www.fitnesstrainermarketing.com (http://www.fitnesstrainermarketing.com)

so either sign up or add yourself to the list by signing up for the free seminar!

Hope this helps!

I guess you could start out by creating a myspace page for yourself.

It's not as good as having your own website but it is completely free, a doddle to set up and will at least give your clients something to look at.

This is my one

Good luck

I would advise setting up a basic website which is designed to do one thing. CONVERT TRAFFIC.
Too many personal trainers websites are just big fancy business cards with a list of qualifications on them!

Once you have got traffic to your website (through search engines, or leaflets or whatever) you dont want them going anywhere!! you want them to take action IE call you or leave their details on a data capture form.

I would recommend a simple one page website with a strong headline, loads of social proof (before and after photos, testimonials) and a strong call to action at the bottom.

If you want more advice on websites theres a post on my blog on Fitness Marketing Strategies for Personal Trainers (http://www.betterfitnessmarketing.com)
I hope that helps!!

Hello,

If you look hard enough you will be willing to find somone who can do a site for £300 - not including marketing - but this is simple to do if you are willing to put in time and establish your own online presence using blogs and forums.

I also have a pet project Fitness Consultants (http://www.fitness-consultants.co.uk) that lists all personal trainers in the UK. You can sign up to this service for free.

I have been blown away by the amount of websites dedicated to fitness the market is huge. Another simple setup is a google or wordpress blog - this will be very cheap to have set up and im sure you could find a suitable design for free. You can then use this blog to continually update your users/clients on what your focus is and what your strengths are.

Hi,

don't get stuck with an über-complicated, expensive custom website. Setting up a nice, simple website with Wordpress is super easy, in particular if you use one of the many free themes (check out themeforrest for example).

Also, you can create a personal trainer profile page and list ads for your PT business for free on our personal trainer directory (http://www.gymtixx.com) gymtixx.com.

Good luck!
