Hi all, hope you are well.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience or knowledge on the following:

Next week I will be training a girl in her 20's who has a gastric band fitted, she is completely healed from surgery and as part of her new lifestyle is committing to an exercise plan, which is where I come in. Now I have not yet met her in person (she is a refferal) and I will be speaking to her doctor before I commence traing her and of course will consult with her before I commence her programme but my question is this:

As she cannot consume anywhere close to the amount of food she used to does anyone have any experience of what/how much she should eat to fuel her training? Of course she is still very overweight so she wont be running marathons or anything but I generally give my clients a guide to follow before I start training them (eat 2 hours before, bring water, trainers, a towel and a can do attitude, that kind of thing) and I just thought maybe different rules may apply to her fuelling herself because of the restrictions of the gastric band?

Any thoughts or previous experience anyone?

No experience but I have a friend of the missus who has a band fitted and I will chat to her for some insight and get back to you.
