I don't know whether my personal trainer is hitting on me and I would like your opinions.
He's asked me out for drinks or dinner but he always made it sound like it's a casual activity. I get the vibes that going out with me is something he really wants to do because even though I've been apprehensive, he doesn't seem to give up and has asked again. He always tells me how he enjoys my company (he also IMs and texts me).
He's let on that he has a girlfriend. So I'm confused as to what it is he wants.
Is he hitting on me? Or am I over-reacting?

Well I certainly don't do drinks or dinner with clients. I do text them sometimes but only educational or motivational things. And even if I went to a party where clients would be I always bring my girlfriend so all parties feel comfortable.
I would tell him you would love to go out for a meal with him and his girlfriend, if he is genuine he wont mind that. If he is after more you will get your answer pretty quick.

Before that, could it be him only being friendly? I don't want to "jump to conclusion."

It is a great question, PT's do get close to clients and sometimes invites to social events can be quite innocent. I must admit, I talk to a lot of trainers and one on one social situations are unusual. I would be very careful if it was me, one from a professionalism stand point and the other from a safety stand point. It is a tricky one though because it may be innocent, it's whether you take the risk.

For me this would seem inappropriate if it is a one on one situation. I think the question you should ask yourself is "does he take any other clients to dinner?" If he is inviting a number of clients to a social event then that is one thing but inviting you out for dinner is another.
I am guessing that the fact that you have posted the question on here you are not completly comfortable with the situation and that is not how your training experience should be.

He wants to smash you. The fact you're asking the question means you know deep down he has intentions!
