Hi there, I'm Pete. Glad I found this site just as I'm getting into the industry.
I'm currently doing a training course with future fit but its taking a lot longer than I thought when trying to do my day job as well. My goal is to pack in the office work, throw my keyboard away and become a freelance PT. I have run a martial arts school in the past so my plan is to do some 1-2-1 PT, open up a couple of self defence classes and probably some other class such as circuit training, slimming etc. Hopefully with all that I'll eventually earn enough to pay the mortgage.

Hi, I'm still at the early stage of my course, I have several workbooks to get through before sitting my gym instructor exams but it shouldn't take me long to do them, its just a case of setting an evening or 2 aside each week to study.
My old martial art school was with a style called Choi Kwang Do but I've since left that organisation and dabbled with a few other styles. I'm in the process of redesigning the syllabus so I will be teaching a mixture of self defence techniques.

Just thought I'd continue my original thread and say hello again.
My training has been going slower than I had planned, I have been moving jobs and doing a lot of overtime. Quite frustrating really, the reason I started studying to become a PT was to allow me to quit my day job and get into the fitness industry but my day job has been taking up so much time, that its been more difficult than I had planned.
I was wondering, how has everyone been finding business during the current economic climate? I assumed that when money gets tight, that fitness would be one of those things that people stop spending on?
